Meet the Founder

My name is Tyler Wilson, I am 33 y/o and married to the most incredible woman, Liz Wilson. I have an 8 y/o son and an 8-week-old daughter. I live in Orem, UT and I am the owner/operator of ProvoRiverAnglers.com I also do subcontract work for Sundance Mountain Resort as a professional fly-fishing guide.

My relationship with OCD has made it extremely hard for me to gain and retain meaningful relationships in my life.  I have found that spending time on a river does more to clear my head and calm my soul than anything else I have tried.  As I spend time with clients in the healing water, enjoying Mother Nature, breathing in the fresh air and appreciating the physical activity, I am hearing more and more of them say, “I needed that! This is surprisingly therapeutic and relaxing.” Maybe you can relate to my story?

I propose that offering this service to our community will offer those who cannot afford the high cost of therapy a free source to mental peace. Together we can generate a place of healing, a real sense of community and lasting neighborly friendships for individuals struggling with OCD, anxiety, and/or depression.

With that in mind, I have started the first chapter of Reeling In Mental Health™ in Orem, UT.  My intention is to offer a free outlet to those in need because there is a serious lack of resources available for people with these kinds of struggles. My hope is to develop our own local community of individuals who can find strength in sharing what we have in common and stop focusing on our differences.

A Valued Community Resource

Tyler Wilson, a professional fly-fishing guide, clinically diagnosed with OCD, discovered the river to be his purest form of therapy and mental peace. He is now offering his expertise in fly fishing, paired with his understanding, patience, and compassion, with those who suffer from mental health in our community. This is only made possible by generous local donations. Come escape in nature, immerse yourself in healing waters, and reel in your mental health, either at our free support group meeting every Thursday @5pm-6PM, followed by a group river outing, or on a 4-hour, donated guided fly-fishing tour, with Tyler Wilson & Reeling In Mental Health™!

Mending Lives and Fly Lines

"Had the absolute greatest time with Tyler! Took my girlfriend fly fishing for her first time and Tyler was so informative and patient and helped her land 9 fish her first time. His knowledge is impeccable and most importantly, he’s fun! Would definitely recommend"
